gendersnaps

So, an old friend from high school asked me to go to a shooting range, and, after months and months of asking, I finally agreed to go.  As you can probably guess it was my first time on a shooting range and my first time to shoot a gun.

Obviously an intense discourse on patriarchy, nationalism, history, power, gender, masculinity, and all things cock and balls related could follow (although Ladies Night is monday at the shooting range if anyone is interested), but I think I'll pass on all that for the moment...
all I can say is that the whole experience for me was this tidal wave of physical and emotional senses that I'd never felt, and that's left me completely drained...but the whole time I was there I kept looking around at the other people on the range who had been completely normalized through repetition...and maybe that was most surreal thing about it all...to them it was a bowling alley or a putt-putt golf course...it was a day at an art gallery...a concert at the symphony...
