A Perfect Last Day in Austin

So, there is no intent of this sounding like a Debbie Downer post so just bear with me through the DD sections because I promise it gets fun.

Travis and I were sitting and chatting in a warm coffee house in cold Seattle on our honeymoon, missing our beautiful bibas. It should be noted that although we had a really wonderful time on the 'moon we pretty much just talked about the things that reminded us of all of you.
-Back to our Seattle conversation: Travis asked me what I would do in Austin if I knew it would be my last day in Austin before leaving for a long time. Because an absence has been planned for a few of our beloved bibas I thought it would be fun to post.

Of course, no matter where each of us travel to or for how long, Austin will always been in the good ol corazon. Still, for kicks, and also so we are sure that each biba gets their most perfect day in Austin at some point in time, I will share my idea of a perfect day in Austin and invite each of you to share your own. It is my hope that for any biba planning an absence (a few weeks or a doctoral program's worth of time) we will ensure that they get their perfect day before leaving. Seriously guys, don't be sad. Change is a beautiful thing and our friendship is a constant and that's what matters.

Ok , so first of all, you would all be there for all of it (preferably Ben and Emily would fly in). It would start with Zocalo and Cafe Medici. We would sit and talk and it would be perfectly windy and warm, just enough to sit outside. Then, after good conversations, coffee and breakfast tacos, we would head out to Zilker/Barton before it gets too hot but is just warm enough. We will play ball and frisbee and warm in the sun, then jump into Barton to cool off; we would bring mimosas and get a bit tipsy. Then its off to Lamar and Sixth for Whole Foods lunch on the patio and local fun shopping at Waterloo, Book People, REI...you know, the works. This is followed by South Congress time- first a bit of window shopping, then some drinks and a dip at the San Jose Hotel. By then, we are a bit tipsy and hungry so we just walk over to the South Congress Cafe for dinner. After a long, conversation filled dinner we simply cross the street for Amy's Ice Crea and then we head on over to the Elephant Room for Jazz and to let our food settle before.........DANCING at Oil Can. We stay out all night dancing 'til we are totally exhausted and sweaty. YES! That's it. I'd probably try and fit in a brunch with everyone the next morning but that's breaking the rules. I will just point out that my perfect day was already accomplished once on my Bride Day, but this time the boys could come :)

Have fun. Then you get your day.
